The Nevada Division of Water Resources, Flood Plain Management, gave presentations last week across Northern Nevada about the causes of flooding and how to mitigate the dangers. Public events as well as school presentations reached many communities including students at Logos Academy in Fallon. Organizers said much interest in the weather and possible flooding has been fueled by the El Nino weather pattern off the Pacific Ocean, which historically has caused increased precipitation during the winter months.
