Aug. 29

Reed 44, Carson 27: Unfortunately for the Senators, this one was over in the first half when Reed roared to a 41-6 halftime lead behind the play of QB Matt Denn, who threw for 3`10 of his 361 yards in the opening half. Greg Wallace ran for 69 yards and Joe Nelson passed for 210 yards and ran for 57 yards.


Sept. 4

Carson 59, McQueen 14: Carson ran for 517 yards and scored on five of its first six possessions en route to the easy win. Abel Carter rushed for 135 and Asa Carter ran for 89. The offensive line played its best game of the season. Elijah Fajayan’s 64-yard return on the opening kick-off got CHS headed in the right direction.

Reed 58, Damonte 39: Matt Denn passed for 180 yards and four scores and Jorden Carter rushed for 242 in the lopsided win.


Sept. 11

Carson 45, North Valleys 7: The Senators continued to roll on the ground, gaining 363 yards en route to the easy win. Abel Carter rushd for 108 yards while Greg Wallace had 71 and Vic Castro V had 70. Carter’s TD run was a 90-yarder.

Reed 42, Galena 19: Matt Denn accounted for 229 yards and three scores, and Jorden Carter gained 159 yards rushing with one score.


Sept. 18

Carson 28, Spanish Springs 6: The Cougars slowed up Carson a little bit with its run blitz, but the Senators got a 72-yard TD run from Asa Carter and a 74-yarder from Greg Wallace to win their third straight. Carson allowed just a second-quarter TD, and the defense did a good job of limiting the Cougars’ dink and dunk offense.

Reed 54, Oak Ridge 42: Matt Denn accounted for nearly 280 yards total offense and six scores in the Raiders’ win. Jorden Carter gained 193 on the ground and scored twice. Reed did give up more than 400 yards defensively.


Sept. 25

Carson 58, Hug 0: The Senators’ Abel Carter rushed for 135 yards and three scores on just sx touches, as the offense gained nearly 400 yards. Connor Sievers, a defensive tackle, registered his only points of the year when he tackled a Hug runner in the end zone for a safety.

Reed 67, Douglas 20: Matt Denn picked the Tigers apart through the air and on the ground. He threw for 241 and three scores, and ran for 94 yards and two more TDs. Receiver Robert Ferrel had six catches for 159 and two TDs.


Oct. 2

Carson 17, Damonte 14: The Senators opened defense of their Sierra League title with a tough win. Johnny Barahona’s field goal in the third quarter proved to be the difference. Justin Tschetter was a monster, helping limit Damonte’s run game to 122 yards.

Reed 27, Reno 11: Matt Denn had 197 yards total offense, as the Huskies made the Raiders work hard for every yard. The 27 points was the lowest Reed scored in the season.


Oct. 9-10

Carson 44, Manogue 13: The Senators rolled to a 30-0 first-half lead. Asa and Abel Carter had two scores apiece. Jace Keema played well in relief of Joe Nelson, who suffered a knee injury. The only Manogue points came against Carson’s reserves.

Reed 64, North Valleys 7: Tre Bussey ran four times for 97 yards and Matt Denn added 243 and three scores.


Oct. 16

Carson 51,Galena 21: Jace Keema went 10-for-14 passing for 159 yards and a score, and Asa Carter gained 106 on the ground with little brother Abel adding 99. Connor Pradere caught seven passes for 139 yards.

Reed 65, Hug 14: The defenseless Hawks were no worry for the Raiders. Jorden Carter ran for 117 yards and two scores, and Matt Denn added 87 on the ground and three scores.


Oct. 23

Reed 63, McQueen 28: Matt Denn accounted for 426 yards of offense and six scores in the lopsided win. Robert Ferrel had four catches, three for scores.

Oct. 30

Carson 42, Douglas 13: The Senators won easily to go 4-0 in Sierra League play. Abel Carter carried seven times for 203 yards, including runs of 70 and 80 yards for TDs. Greg Wallace was almost as good, gaining 186 yards on 10 carries.

Reed 56, Spanish Springs 17: Matt Denn went 14-for-14 passing for 142 yards and a score, and Jorden Carter ran for 144 yards and three scores.


Nov. 6 Playoffs

Carson 49, Spanish Springs 34: Joe Nelson threw for a long TD to Asa Carter and Jace Keema ran for three short TDs, as the Senators scored three times in the fourth quarter to win. Greg Wallace rushed for 156 and Abel Carter added 125.

Reed 69, Douglas 14: The Raiders surged to a 56-0 halftime lead. Matt Denn went 9-for-10 passing for 161 and two scores.


Nov. 13 Playoffs

Carson 27, Reno 17: The Senators stretched their winning streak to 10 with a tough, physical win over the Huskies. Asa Carter ran for 93 yards and caught a 2-yard TD pass from Jace Keema in the fourth quarter. Spencer Rogers, Asa Carter and Abel Carter had interceptions. Reno’s ground game moved the ball between the 20s, but failed to generate any big plays.

Reed 35, Galena 0: The Raiders ran for 355 yards, including 220 from Jorden Carter and 100 by Matt Denn.
