The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to be cautious with their mail after receiving several reports of stolen mail.
The Sheriff’s Office said that they have gotten reports of mail stolen from mailboxes form the Topaz Ranch estates and the Gardnerville Ranchos areas recently.
They said that citizens should collect mail as soon as possible after the mail delivery has been made or consider a lockable mailbox, especially with the holidays coming up. Outgoing mail should also be placed in a secured US Postal mailbox if possible.
