Aug. 16, 1957 - Nov. 12, 2015

Debra L. Rister, 58, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Renton, Washington. Born in Taft, California on August 16, 1957, Deb was the eldest of three children. Rarely spotted without a good book in hand, Deb was an

impassioned reader with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. With a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Chapman University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology for UC Riverside, Deb had a passion for helping others learn and found her calling as a National Board Certified High School Special Education Teacher. With a razor sharp wit, Deb’s feisty and caring personality shined daily as she loved her family, empowered her students, and found fellowship with other teachers. Left to honor deb are her husband Rex MacLean; parents Donald and Margaret Rister; step-children Mike MacLean, Matt Melendez, Ian MacLean, and Lauren Draper; sister Kathy Morlan; brother Scott Rister; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Deb touched are invited to her memorial service at The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Hwy, Fallon, Nevada 89406, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Please join us as we grieve, support each other and, of course, remember the amazing woman Deb was.
