Dental records have confirmed the identity of a Fallon man whose body was found last week.

Churchill County Sheriff Ben Trotter said the man is 50-year-old Timothy Gerald Watson, who had been reported missing for almost a month.

According to Trotter, pilot Charlie Gomes and his brother noticed something unusual when they wre flying over an area northeast of Soda Lake. After they landed, Trotter said the brother discovered the decomposed body near the end of the former U.S. Coast Guard tower at the end of Soda Lake Road. Once the body was found, Trotter notified Watson’s father.

“The remains included a workplace lanyard found under the remains with Timothy’s photo, name and workplace information on it,” Trotter said last week.

Trotter said there is no indication of foul play. The sheriff, who is also the county’s coroner, said it appears Watson died several weeks ago.

Trotter said a missing person report was filed almost two weeks ago on Watson, who was last seen on Sept. 2. A vehicle associated with Watson was left near Soda Lake on Workman Road earlier this month.
