Tip a Cop event to benefit Special Olympics

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is hosting their Tip a Cop event at the Carson City Chili’s Wednesday night to benefit the Special Olympics.

Local law enforcement officers will replace the servers at Chili’s and wait on patrons from 4-8 p.m. All of the tips the officers receive will go to the Special Olympics.

“This is for the children,” Sheriff Ken Furlong said. “It is emotionally beneficial to participate in this event. These youngsters and some adults stand with us constantly.”

There will be nearly a dozen officers participating in the event.

Tip a Cop will be taking place all across Northern Nevada Wednesday, in three locations in Reno and Carson. Print out the Dine to Donate flier and Chili’s will make a donation to the Special Olympics from your meal.
