A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of possession of child pornography.

Carson City Detectives arrested 66-year-old Glenn Ware Tuesday at 4:44 p.m. on suspicion of second offense possession of child pornography.

The arrest came from an ongoing investigation after an anonymous tipster informed the Sheriff’s Office of the man. Detectives located Ware sitting in his vehicle Tuesday near 3rd and Curry streets and were able to watch Ware using his laptop with WiFi from a local business. On the laptop, Ware was chatting online while viewing child pornography, said Lt. Brian Humphrey in a press release. Ware was taken into custody and transported to the jail. Detectives obtained a search warrant of Ware’s residence on Goni Road and discovered additional evidence.

Ware is a registered sex offender and served one year in prison for an earlier sex-related conviction in 2011.

Second offense of possession of child pornography can have a sentence of one year to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Bail was set at $40,000.
