High Desert Grange is having a scarecrow factory and petting zoo at Lattin farms on Saturday, so come visit them.

The High Desert Grange’s Junior group and teen mentors went to the Silver State Fair during the summer to show their various animals.

They showed Guinea pigs, goats, rabbits as well as market and breeding. The Grange members did quite well at the show.

The High Desert Grange takes members from the age of 5 and older who are willing to participate. This is a new program to Fallon, and the Grange is accepting new members. The main focus is educating while having fun and giving back to our community through community service.

The national youth grange program is designed to provide leadership training and life skills, to build self esteem and self confidence, responsibility and we encourage honor, patriotism and a concern for agriculture and other community we being. The Grange holds meetings at Lattin Farms from 7-8 p.m. every second Wednesday of the month — if interested, come join the Grange.
