HAWTHORNE — The Nevada Division of Investigations says an inmate who was found dead in a cell at the Mineral County jail earlier this month was an Arizona man who committed suicide.
The victim was identified on Monday as 53-year-old Jack Eugene Reese of Phoenix. The cause of death was listed as “self-inflicted strangulation.”
Reese was found dead at the county detention facility in Hawthorne at about 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. He had been arrested earlier that day on a drug charge.
NDI agents are continuing to investigate the incident.
