Prison officials are investigating an apparent inmate suicide at Southern Desert Correctional Center 30 miles north of Las Vegas.
Absalon Traylor, 29, was found hanging from a bed sheet tied to an air vent in his cell. He was housed alone in the cell.
Traylor was committed from Clark County in June 2017 to serve up to 48 months as an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
An autopsy is being scheduled.
