Nevada Recycles hosting statewide recycled art contest

The Nevada Recycles program and The Venetian and The Palazzo in Las Vegas are holding a statewide recycled art contest.

Projects must be composed of used recyclable materials, such as tires, electronics, appliances, plastic bags, bottles or batteries. Fastening materials can include tape, glue or string. Submission of an entry form and photos of artwork are due by Oct. 25.

In addition to a $200 prize to the first place class project, $250 is given for first, $100 is given for second and $50 is given for third in four categories: Kindergarten-grade 5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12 and Adult.

Winners will be announced before America Recycles Day, Nov. 15. For guidelines and more information, go to NevadaRecycles.nv.gov.
