Gold Hill Hotel hosting former Storey County Commissioner Bill Sjovangen April 21

Former Storey County Commissioner Bill Sjovangen is presenting about Nevada aviation history at the Gold Hill Hotel Thursday Night Presentations on Thursday, April 21.

Sjovangen, a 34-year veteran of the US Air Force, is a master aircraft mechanic, commercial pilot with single and multi-engine ratings, and a certified flight and ground instructor. During his Air Force career he was a flight engineer on C-118 and C-47 aircraft, a recruiter, a human resources manager, and a Motor Pool superintendent. He was awarded four Air Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, four Air Force Commendation Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals and the Humanitarian Service Medal, among others.

The presentation is at 7:30 p.m. Dinner is from 4 to 8 p.m. at the hotel’s Crown Point Restaurant, 1540 Main St., Gold Hill. The cost is $25 for the dinner and lecture and $10 for the lecture only. For reservations, call 775-847-0111.
