Douglas County Public Library in Minden hosting book signing, sale in May

The Douglas County Public Library in Minden is hosting an author signing for “The True Tails of Baker and Taylor,” a memoir by former librarian Jan Louch, about the two Scottish Fold cats who lived and worked at the library.

Jan Louch and coauthor Lisa Rogak will sign and sell books from 2 to 4 p.m. May 7. Have a chat with the authors and learn about Baker and Taylor, the two Douglas County feline ambassadors who became mascots of the Baker and Taylor book company.

Thousands of used and audio books, DVDs and CDs will be available in the library’s spring book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. A members-only preview sale for Friends of the Library will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 13. Become a member at the door to take advantage of the sale.

Members of the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library and anyone who joins during the sale will receive a 10 percent discount. Cash purchases only; credit cards and checks cannot be accepted.

The library accepts donations throughout the year. Bring hardbacks, paperbacks, DVDs, audio books on CD, and music CDs in good condition to the library during business hours. If you have more than a box or two, call ahead to make arrangements.
