Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Report of AK47, marijuana

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 1:50 p.m., Megan Woods, 32, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of failure to appear and probation violation after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 3100 block of Destoya Drive. At the same incident, Angel Tovar, 32, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail for Woods was set at $7,505 and bail for Tovar was set at $3,500.

At 7:08 p.m., Brandon Sells, 32, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony state probation violation and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the Highway 50 Whiskey Tavern. Bail was set at $2,500.

At 9:43 p.m., a 27-year-old Minden man was arrested on suspicion of felony parole violation after deputies initiated a traffic stop near 5th and Roop Streets. No bail was set.

FRIDAY

At 6:03 p.m., a 46-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense after deputies responded to reports of an intoxicated woman near the 500 block of Jeanell Drive. Bail was set at $2,500.

At 6:22 p.m., Chris Thomas, 43, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, two counts of felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of disobedience to a traffic control device and DUI-drugs after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 2600 block of Dori Way. At the same incident, Robert Cantrell, 37, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, felony possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail for Thomas was set at $38,645 and bail for Cantrell was set at $28,500.

At 6:49 p.m., Alfredo Palma-Lopez, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony possession of documents to establish false status, DUI warrant, no valid driver’s license and no proof of insurance after deputies observed suspicious behavior while responding to an unrelated incident near Spooner Junction. Bail was set at $13,950.

At 8:32 p.m., a 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of provoking assault after deputies responded to reports of a possible fight near the 500 block of Stewart Street. Bail was set at $500.

At 10:38 p.m., a 29-year-old Carson City woman and a 34-year-old Carson City woman were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after deputies responded to reports of a fight near the 3000 block of Roop Street. Bail was set at $150.

SATURDAY

At 12:50 a.m., Cherie Borst, 46, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of five counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, felony possession of a controlled substance, abuse or neglect of a child, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute near the 200 block of Rawhide Drive. When deputies arrived, they were informed a 17-year-old inside the residence had allegedly threatened the reporting party with an AK47 weapon, because of that, deputies cleared the residence at gunpoint. Inside several weapons and a marijuana grow were discovered. The 17-year-old juvenile was also arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Bail for Borst was set at $108,500.

At 2:06 a.m., Donald Scherer, 53, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery with a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm after deputies responded to reports of a stabbing near the 2100 block of Dori Way. Bail was set at $30,000.

At 6:15 p.m., a 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-drugs and open container after deputies responded to reports of a reckless driver near the 800 block of College Parkway. Bail was set at $1,100.

At 7:17 p.m. Tashawn Sharp, 40, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony parole violation, contempt of court and violation of a restraining order after deputies responded to reports of a restraining order violation near Lavendar Circle. Bail was set at $1,312.

At 10:15 p.m., a 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of pre-trial supervision after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Saliman Road and William Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

SUNDAY

At 12:14 a.m., a 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery after deputies responded to reports of a fight near the 500 block of Piochi Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 2:42 a.m., a 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 300 block of William Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 2:58 a.m., a 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and wrong way on a one way street after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Stewart and Spear Streets. Bail was set at $1,040.

At 4:02 a.m., a 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and domestic battery after deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute near the 1100 block of Nevada Street. Deputies located the suspect near the 1700 block of N. Carson Street. Bail was set at $4,000.

MONDAY

At 12:14 a.m., a 36-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Fleishmann and Curry Streets. Bail was set at $3,000.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
