Experienced pediatrician joins Banner Health Clinic

After officially starting practice earlier this summer, Dr. Tessa Tovado has joined pediatrician Dr. Taofeeq Ogunbajo at the clinic to offer additional family-centered care including well visits, acute care, health screenings, immunizations and more.

Tovado comes to Fallon from Hanford, Calif., where she worked in private practice at Gage Pediatrics.

After knowing she wanted to be a pediatrician since eighth grade, Tovado earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed a pediatric internship at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, and a pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Central California, University of California San Francisco in Fresno, Calif.

She specializes in pediatrics with an emphasis on preventive care and acute sick care, and is relocating to Fallon with her husband, Tony, who has served as a Navy pilot for the past seven years.

“We are excited to be living and working in Fallon,” said Tovado. “Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly to us. It will also be great to serve in a community with such a strong military background.”

Tovado is proficient in Spanish and has built an extensive record of community and volunteer work such as Apache’s Angels Foundation, Salvation Army, Cell Phones for Soldiers, Austin Food Bank and Girl Scouts.
