Harvey Mitchell, Jr., member of the Washoe Tribe, was born in Shurz, NV August 26, 1960. He passed away in Carson City, NV on January 2nd, 2016. He was 55 years old. He joined the National Guard in Kellspell, Montana. After being in the Guard for 7 years, he finished his service in Reno, NV. Harvey and Rose were married in 1994. He lived in the Carson Valley Area most of his life. He was a jack of all trades, working various construction jobs throughout the valley. He worked at Carson Valley Inn for 11 years. Everywhere he worked, he was always well liked. He was always friendly and smiling - you couldn’t take him anywhere without someone recognizing him! Harvey was preceded in death by parents Flora and Harvey Mitchell, Sr., Sisters Leanna Mitchell, and Amy Mitchell. He is survived by wife Rose and son Cody Mitchell, grand-daughter Terra Rose Mitchell, all of Carson City, NV. Brothers Kelly Mitchell, Carson City, NV, Boyd Mitchell, Gardnerville, NV, Sisters Faye and Corrine Mitchell, Gardnerville, NV, Uncle Floyd Evans & family in Reno, NV, and numerous family members near and far. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8th, 2016 at the Carson Colony Gym on Curry St. in Carson City, NV. Viewing at 10:00am, services are at 11:00am. Burial will take place at the Stewart Indian Cemetery. A potluck dinner will be held after services at the Carson Colony Gym. All family and friends are welcome.
