Free programs offered at Mormon Station State Park in Genoa

Visit Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa for family friendly summer park programs. All programs are free to the public.

Presented by the Douglas County Public Library, Storytime in the Park is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28. Children of all ages are invited to enjoy stories, sing alongs, a puppet show and a craft in an outdoor setting.

Join Ranger Kim from Washoe Lake State Park as she talks about the Carson River ecosystem at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 31. She will discuss the Great Basin, Carson River watershed, local river communities and water quality. She will be highlighting the plants and wildlife that call the ecosystem home, as well as the four state parks located along the Carson River. Meet at the wagon shed at Mormon Station.

Mormon Station is 20 minutes south of Carson City via Highway 395, and about one hour south of Reno, and approximately 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe via Highway 207.
