Misfits Theater Group is looking for local performers to star in “The Maguffin or What Exactly is a Toyfe,” a comedy set in the early 1940s.
Auditions will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at Dayton Valley Branch Library, 321 Dayton Valley Road.
The show, written and directed by Gail Gundersen, follows the story of Melanie Makem, who inherited the International Toyfe Manufacturing company (ITMC), since her father passed away after eating a frog leg. The assembly floor manager has retired and Melanie hires Nicolas Srekcink to take his place not knowing he is a notorious thug. Nic infiltrates the factory in order to destroy it and ruin Melanie. It seems that Nic has hated Melanie since they were six years old and has vowed revenge. There is a theft and Detective Maury Klute discovers the thief and again, all is right with the world.
Performances are on Oct. 14, 15, 21 and 22. Three women, five men and six crew members are needed.
For more information, call Gundersen at 775-629-0903.
