Celebrate the Easter holiday at Mormon Station while sampling cast iron fare at a Dutch oven cooking demonstration at 1 p.m. on Easter, Sunday, March 27.

Park rangers will prepare ham with sides to share with visitors, and discuss how pioneers used the same cast iron cooking techniques in the 1850s. This event is free and all ages are welcome.

Mormon Station State Historic Park is at 2307 Main St., Genoa. There is a $1 entry fee for the museum; children 12 years and younger are free, and there is no charge to visit the park grounds.

The Nevada State Parks Passport Booklet is available at any state park. Visitors who have their booklets stamped at 15 different parks will earn a free annual pass to all Nevada State Parks. The booklet, which serves as a travel aid as well as travelogue for park visitors, includes photos, a description of each park, lists of amenities, travel journal pages and spaces for validation stamps which have been designed to reflect each unique state park.
