Michael Wilson McKnight, 67 of Fallon Nevada passed away February 26, 2016. He was born December 24, 1948 in Las Vegas Nevada to Lawrence Wilson McKnight and Louise Effinger McKnight. Mike graduated from Churchill County High School in 1966. He served a Spanish speaking mission in the Southern States for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and worked for Sierra Pacific Power Company. He also ran a family farm. Mike married Sharon Miller in 1972 in the St George LDS temple. They made their home in Fallon Nevada. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. He was an avid scouter who received his Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Award. He spent many years as a Scoutmaster helping and teaching others. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a hard worker and used his farm to teach his family the value of hard work. Mike was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a great example of service and will be remembered by many. Mike is survived by his wife Sharon and children, Kristina Hatch (John), Craig (LoraLea), Linda Bradley (Jeff), Daren (Linda), Randy (Heather), Teresa Johnson (Steven), David (Felecia), Rita Taylor (Nick), Rhonda Roman (Kendall), Ryan (Audrey) and 31 grandchildren. His mother Louise McKnight, brother Jerry (Tami) and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father in 2003. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11th at 11:00 AM at the LDS Church, 450 North Taylor Fallon Nevada 89406. There will be a visitation one hour before the service and Thursday evening, March 10th 6 PM to 8 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home 500 Rio Vista Fallon Nevada 89406.
