The third weekend in the Top Gun Raceway’s E.T. Summit Series hosted several upsets to veteran racers, reminding Fallon there’s a long way to go before Las Vegas. Racers have a long rest until the next weekend series May 20.
SATURDAY RESULTS:
Gene Bruflat had another chance at winning the Sportsman division but came up short against Edward Young. Young’s 1985 Chevy clocked in at 7.897 seconds to Bruaflat’s 11.583. Young has a ways to climb on the points chart before threatening anyone, though, second to last in the division at 155 points.
Bruflat is sixth out of 12 at 472 points.
The final race of the Pro division was decided by a tenth of a second between Fernley’s Eric Setterberg in his Dragster and Fallon’s Jim Grace returning in his 69 Camaro. Grace finished inches ahead of Setterberg, 6.027 to Setterberg’s 6.043.
Fallon’s Lonnie Grace turned heads and surged to the top of the points list in the Super Pro division in his 02 Cavalier upon defeating fellow Fallon racer Frank Barrett, returning in his 73 Nova. Lonnie Grace finished less than a second ahead of Barrett, 5.633 to 6.599.
