Two physicians join Banner Health

Banner Health welcomes two new medical specialists, an orthopedic surgeon and an obstetrician/gynecologist, who now see patients in the Banner Health Clinic in Fallon.

Gregory Harbach, MD, earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. He completed his bachelor’s degree at UNLV. He served a residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va., and a foot and ankle fellowship with the Orthopaedic Specialists of Charleston, S.C.

The military provided Dr. Harbach with several years of medical experience as well. He completed special training in flight surgeon school at the Naval Aerospace and Operational Medical Institute in Pensacola, Fla., and a combat casualty care course in San Antonio, Texas. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon at Naval hospitals in Jacksonville, Fla., and Charleston, S.C.; was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2007-2008; and worked as a flight surgeon for Carrier Carrier Air Wing Seventeen, USS Enterprise in 1996-97 and for USS Eisenhower from 1997-98.

Most recently, Dr. Harbach worked as an orthopedic surgeon for Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Karen Rodeffer-Evans, MD, is originally from Tennessee and attended college and medical school in Tennessee and North Carolina. Dr. Evans became a physician assistant after completing training at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. She later attended James H. Quillen College of Medicine of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. She completed her medical residency at Carilion Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley in Roanoke, Va.

Most recently, Dr. Evans worked at Evanston Regional Hospital in Evanston, Wyo., as a staff physician. She also has worked in South Carolina and Lebanon, Tenn.

Dr. Evans is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy and American College of Physician Executives.
