“Vantage Point of Distance,” a new exhibition at the Nevada Arts Council’s OXS Gallery, features the sculptural work of Las Vegas artist David Rowe.

Rowe said his work is informed by an aesthetic developed during a youth spent in the Midwest and a visual language acquired by building miniatures and models as a child. He said his work depicts the intersection of landscape, history and the transitory spaces within the American psyche. The artist, an assistant professor in sculptural practices at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will appear at a free reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. July 26 at the gallery.

The display can be seen through July 29. The OXS Gallery is at 716 N. Carson St., Suite A.
