Man arrested in Ranchos stabbing

A Gardnerville man is being held on $150,000 bail in connection with a stabbing at a Gardnerville Ranchos liquor store on Friday evening.

David James, 51, was booked into Minden Jail on charges of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and burglary. The name of the victim, who was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center with a chest wound, was not released.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to Ranchos Liquor at 1302 Langley at 5:44 p.m. Friday. They found a 50-year-old man with a chest wound.

Washoe Tribal Police found the other man in the altercation on Tribal lands. He’d received a cut to the hand, and was transported by ambulance to Renown.

After being treated, James was taken into custody.
