The Nevada Supreme Court on Tuesday swore in Elizabeth Brown as Clerk of the Court.

She succeeds Tracie Lindeman and becomes the 17th Supreme Court clerk since statehood in 1864.

Brown has been serving as a supervisory staff attorney for the high court, managing the capital appeals docket and overseeing training for new attorneys among other duties.

She has worked at the Nevada Supreme Court since 2000.

Brown is a graduate of the Texas Tech law school.

Lindeman leaves the post after nine years during which the court greatly expanded and implemented a new case management system and moved much of the court’s records to electronic, digital formats.
