Celtic music is on tap this weekend at the Brewery Arts Center.

Fortunate Strangers will perform Saturday from 7-9 p.m. in the BAC’s Black Box Theater.

The three-member band plays a mix of Scottish and Irish music and features Joe and Kathy Bly from the Carson Valley-based Celtic group Cíana.

The trio also includes San Francisco Bay Area singer Celia Ramsay.

The band’s name comes from a chance meeting the three had in Dingle, Ireland.

Ramsay walked into O’Flaherty’s Pub there and thought she recognized two other patrons, Joe and Kathy visiting from Gardnerville. The three started up a conversation and figured out all attended Lark Music Camp, an annual musical gathering held in Mendocino, Calif.

Tickets for the performance are $10 for BAC members, $12 for seniors and students, $15 for general admission and $20 at the door.

To purchase tickets in advance, go online to breweryarts.org/event/fortunate-strangers/ or call the BAC at 883-1976.

The BAC is located at 449 W. King St.
