Spring gardening workshops planned in Carson City

With spring gardening on its way, the Greenhouse Garden Center is hosting a variety of landscaping workshops next month.

David Ruf, owner, will cover how to prepare soil for spring, add organics and start weed and insect control in “Get a Jump on Spring” at 10 a.m. March 4.

Learn all about pruning with hands-on demonstrations in the center’s annual pruning clinic at 10 a.m. March 11. Speakers include Ruf, Tom Henderson and David Sanchez.

“What’s the Buzz? Mason Bees and Their Habitats” by Ruf will be at 10 a.m. March 18.

Ruf will give information about planting cool season crops, such as potatoes and onions, and using season extenders at 10 a.m. March 25.
