Carson City restaurant Grandma Hattie’s will soon be closing, at least temporarily.

The building and property at 2811 S. Carson St. is in the process of being sold.

Owner John Hurzel said Wednesday the closing date on the property sale as well as for the restaurant were still to be determined.

He said a decision on whether to reopen Grandma Hattie’s in a new location will be made by the end of the summer.

Hurzel also owns the Artisans Cafe at 701 S. Carson St., out of which he will continue to operate his other two businesses, Nevada Nosh Food Truck and A Catered Affair caterers.

Hurzel said he didn’t know what the new owner plans for the building.

The 6,215 square foot building and 42,689 lot is listed on loopnet.com, a commercial real estate web site, for $1.27 million.

In April, after the due diligence on the sale was completed, Hurzel notified the various groups who held regular meetings at the restaurant to tell them they should find new locations in case the sale went through.
