If you are seeking a one-of-a-kind artistic gift this summer, be sure to stop in to visit the Carson City Chamber Artisan Gift Shop dedicated to showcasing the artistic talents of locals who can craft just about anything. We assure the gifts you purchase are affordable and truly one-of-a-kind.
If you are seeking a true piece of Nevada history, look no further! We have a very talented prisoner who chisels beautiful art for us made from the sandstone quarried at the historic — now closed — Nevada State Prison. From magnets to eagles, our talented prisoner keeps busy doing what he likes to do and he does it well. We have a pair of book-ends sure to be the envy of everyone who sees them on any desk.
Pottery is favored by many for that one great gift for almost any occasion. Pinyon Pottery owner Linda Ritter continues to craft pottery that flies out the door. Her Nevada mugs are favored by many visitors as are her beautiful and useful items sure to please. She’s happily experimenting with her own glazes and finds sitting at her pottery wheel soothing and creative.
Cindy Burton loves glass and has been enjoying creating anything and everything out of glass for years in her home workshop. We feature some of her plates, coasters and necklace sets – all moderately priced. No two items are the same.
We still have some of Jarill Ristine’s beloved earrings and will carry them until husband Glenn has sold all her stock so lovingly crafted while she was still alive. Jarill recently passed after battling cancer for many years and many want to know how they can purchase a memento crafted by her. We have them here.
Everyone absolutely loves the metal art for indoor or outdoor display crafted by Robbie St Clair. He continues to introduce new metal art to his mix of favorites and assistant Susan creates magic with her color palettes on the staked art.
For those who love the look and feel of wood, we have beautiful items crafted by the Carson Valley Woodturners who repurpose local — sometimes 100-year-old — wood for their items. Their items are signed and dated and can take up to 5 years to craft depending on the age of the wood.
We are now carrying artistic wholesome food items made in our region, beautifully packaged that will make great gift items. And, wait ‘til you taste HalleluYah Honey made by artistic busy bees and so very good for you!
We also feature the not-so-one-of-a-kind touristy items that are a must, but not the focus of the store. And, yes, we have postcards. Be sure to stop by during business hours and ooh and aah over the art created by our local artists. M-F 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and select weekends. 882-1565.
