Virginia City upended Sierra Lutheran, 6-5, in nine innings Tuesday afternoon in a Northern 1A baseball game.

Sierra Lutheran held an early 3-0 lead, but VC bounced back to tie the game in the third. The score was tied at 5 from the fifth through the seventh.

Seth Houghton went 1-for-3 at the plate with a homer and two RBI. He also threw four innings, striking out six. He didn’t allow an earned run.

“Tough loss today,” assistant coach Brandon Neal said. “It was a back and forth one today. Luckily we get to play them twice on Friday, and we look forward going to their place. We feel we can take those two and win the series.”
