Carson High wrestlers top Galena; headed to Winnemucca

The Carson High wrestling team had an impressive showing on Wednesday in a 46-29 win over Galena.

Among the highlights for Carson was Ariel Vega winning by major decision at 106 pounds, Luis Mayoral (120), Thomas Legott (152) and Alex Wells (170) all winning by pin.

“The kids wrestled really well,” Carson coach Nick Redwine said. “I was really pleased.”

Redwine said the contest was a good tuneup for a high-level tournament on Friday and Saturday in Winnemucca.

“That will be a real good test,” Redwine said. “That’s a real good tournament.”
