Commissioners meet Thursday

The Churchill County Commission will meet Thursday at 8:15 a.m. for its first meeting of August.

The agenda includes the following items:

An application by Eileen Cornwell for a zone change for property located at 5501 and 5545 Reno Highway, a portion of assessor’s parcel numbers 00855160 and 00855157, consisting of 10.86 and 6.38 acres and 6.2 an 6.0 acres of surface water rights, in the C1 and E1 land use districts. The applicant is requesting to change the C1 designation on half of both properties to E1, making both properties completely E1 zoning. The properties border the Reno Highway south of Briggs Lane.

Presentation on Nevada state purchasing opportunities.

First Reading for Bill 2018C, Ordinance 103, an ordinance establishing the procedures and requirements for the consideration of Development Agreements as authorized by NRS 278.0201.

Social Services overview of Resilient Eight Consortium priorities and funding opportunity totaling $200,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Service Administration.


New business

An application filed by Andrew and Karla Craig for a Sending Site on property located at 4395 Schurz Highway.

Reappointment of Donna Cossette to the Churchill County Cemetery Board.

Transfer of funds to the Churchill County Road Department in the amount of $250,000 for the first and final payment of the fiscal year 2018 various road/bridge projects for the fourth quarter (prior fiscal year).

Consideration and possible action re: Amendment to the Agreement originally approved on Nov. 2, 2017 between Pictometry International Corp., a Delaware corporation, and Churchill County to include three additional aerial imagery flights in an amount not to exceed $186,883.
