Smoke from several fires in the region will continue to inundate Carson City until at least Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Additionally, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Wednesday and Thursday.
Fires in California and western Nevada continue to produce heavy amounts of smoke region wide, the NWS said. While air quality is worse closer to fires, all western Nevada and Sierra valley locations are experiencing diminished air quality to some degree.
Urban locations can expect additional reductions to air quality each afternoon through at least Wednesday as low level ozone increases, according to the NWS.
It is best to avoid prolonged exposure if possible and reconsider outdoor activities.
Also, the NWS in Reno has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening and again Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.
