The Panthers beat the Rams 19-6 in the opening game of the Talents Carson City NFL Flag Football League last week.

In other games, the Packers beat the Raiders 25-7, the Raiders beat the Rams 19-0 and the Packers defeated the Panthers 38-13.

Raiders Game Watch scheduled

Join other die-hard Raiders fans on Sunday at Jimmy G’s, as the Raiders take on the Los Angeles Chargers at 1:05 p.m.

Nevada Raider Nation – Carson City Chapter, will host the game watch, at 301 N. Carson St.

There will be a barbecue at halftime, along with a side dish. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share. If not, suggested donation is $3 per person.

Applications will be available at the game watch; membership is $20 per person.

Soroptimist event held at Silver Oak

At Silver Oak Golf Course, the Brown Boys, Dale Brown, Nate Brown, Jose Del Real, and Steve McIntyre took top honors at the recent Carson City Soroptimist Stroke to Help Golf Tournament, with a score of 44 in the scramble-format game.

Mixed team winners, Melissa Harlow, John Ahdunko, Tom Wambaugh, and Tom Wheeler, from Greater Nevada Credit Union, scored 54, and the top women’s team, Jan Burgman and Pam Christensen scored 67. In the on-course contests, Jason Luis and April Hackett won Closest to the Line, Kyle Bacon and Kristin Nunes had the Longest Drives, and Nate Brown and Jan Burgman landed Closest to the Hole.


Glow Golf at Genoa Lakes

The Ranch at Genoa Lakes will host a Glow Golf event on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Pre-party will begin at 6 p.m. and tee time will be at about 7:30.

The Glow Golf includes: 4 Player Scramble all par 3s; glow golf balls; golf Cart for decorating; Game Buy-in; food; music; and corn hole.
