Kat Simmons offering stand-up comedy workshop in Minden

Kat Simmons will be offering her fall stand-up comedy workshop beginning Oct. 1 through Nov. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the COD Casino in Minden.

Simmons said the class is as much for the person who can’t get off the microphone as those who are terrified to get on it.

Some people have been told they were funny their whole lives and want to give it a shot, others just want to be able to speak in public with confidence.

Simmons teaches the students tools that ease stage fright and encourages the students to look for the humor in life no matter how challenging things might be.

On the final night, the students will take the stage and perform their five-minute routine in a public showcase.
