19-pound wiper for 9-year-old from Fallon

Beau Drake Jr, 9 of Fallon, caught this 19-pound, 32-inch long wiper on Friday. Beau and his dad were out fishing on Lahontan Reservoir when then hooked up right before sundown.

Beau was using a pink crankbait and 15-point test when he hooked up by bench 26. He thought he was snagged but he kept reeling. He dad had to hold him while he reeled. After a 35 minute fight, Beau’s dad was able to net the fish.
