The Carson Rifle and Pistol Range will be open to the public two evenings a week starting Wednesday.

The hours are as follows: Wednesdays and Thursday, 5:30-7 p.m., through April 30 with mandatory cold range at 6:45 for entire facility target removal; Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8 p.m. starting May 1 with mandatory cold range at 6:45 for short/long ranges target change out, and at 7:45 for entire facility target removal.

The range is also open on Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with range safety officers provided by the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club.

During those hours, the range is first come, first served with no reservations allowed. Carson City park rangers, who are range safety officers, will monitor the range. If for any reason, a park ranger isn’t available, the range may not be available.

Group reservations can be scheduled separately by emailing the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club at info@carsonrapc.org. Group use requires National Rifle Association certified range safety officers, insurance, and may be subject to other requirements depending on the type of reservation. The facility reservation calendar is available at carsonrapc.org.
