The Carson High boys and girls track teams continued to post impressive marks on Saturday at the high-powered Del Oro Invitational in Sacramento.
Abby Pradere won the girls 800 for Carson in 2:16.15. The most impressive performance of the day for Carson may have arguably come in the 3200 when Zach Sever placed fourth in an outstanding time of 9:48.34.
Ashley Britt also had another impressive day for Carson’s girls, placing seventh in the 100 hurdles in a season best 16.25 and third in the 300 hurdles in 48.03.
Also for Carson, Jakob Heller placed second in the boys triple jump with a season best 41-6 1/2. For Carson’s girls, Merce Tarrayo had a solid day, placing fifth in the shot put at 34-2 and third in the discus with a season best 111-10.
In addition for CHS, Ben Granados was fifth in the 200 in 22.82 and 14th in the 400 in 53.49 for the CHS boys. Katherine Oppedahl was eight in the 200 in 27.69 and ninth in the 400 in 1:03.13 for the Senator girls.
Hunter Rauh posted an outstanding time in the 800, finishing 12th in 2:02.28 for the CHS boys. Freshman Walker MacKenzie also had an outstanding time in the 800, placing 21st in 2:07.28.
Ethan Byasse placed 10th in the 1600 in 4:38.53 for the Senator boys. The Carson girls 4x100 relay of Erica Basa, Katelynn Wing, Natalyn Wakeling and Britt posted a 51.84 in the preliminaries and came back to take fifth in the finals in 53.01.
Renald Malasaga also won the boys frosh-soph high jump for CHS at 5-4.
