Crime log: Motorcyclist gives Carson City Sheriff’s a ‘splitting’ headache

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

• At 8:08 a.m., a Carson man was arrested on four misdemeanor counts after a traffic stop for “splitting lanes” on his motorcycle on Highway 50 East near Deer Run Road. He was arrested on suspicion of an unsafe lane change, suspended drivers license, no turn signal and held on a failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail was set at $775.

• At 8:10 a.m., Albert Waldron, 54, was arrested after his vehicle was stopped for an expired registration at College Parkway and Highway 50. A drug dog alerted to the presence of meth in the vehicle and a search revealed both meth and paraphernalia. Waldron was also arrested on suspicion of the suspended registration and driving without valid insurance. Bail was set at $4,150.

• At 1:16 p.m., Charles Ratcliff, 68, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after deputies responded to the Veranda View Motel on South Carson Street. The arrest report says when the deputy arrived he saw Ratcliff walking with a large knife in his hand and swinging it at another person. He was held at gunpoint but refused repeated commands to drop the knife until ordered to about 10 times. Bail was set at $20,000.

• At 8:20 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was arrested in the parking lot of Playa Azul on William Street, kicking and fighting with a citizen who was trying to stop her from attacking him. She continued to fight with deputies when they arrived. She was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer as well as violating bail conditions. Bail was set at $$1,450.

• At 11:32 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Domestic Battery 1st offense after deputies were called to the apartment she shared with a boyfriend on College Parkway. After she refused to leave the area, he advised deputies she caused the injury to his forehead by punching him. She was held on $3,000 bail.

• At 11:26 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI 1st alcohol after a traffic stop in the 2500 block of North Carson Street. Her passenger, Billy Hyatt, 32, was arrested on suspicion of a P&P violation for consuming alcohol and held without bail. Her bail was set at $1,000.

WEDNESDAY

• At 4:19 p.m., a 63-year-old was arrested on an outstanding contempt warrant after employees at FISH called saying they wanted a subject removed from the store. Bail on the warrant is $500.

• At 9:55 p.m., a 35-year-old laborer was arrested on suspicion of obstructing and resisting after deputies responded to a report of a fight at a residence on Randall Drive. The arrest report says the defendant refused to comply with instructions from the deputy and attempted to pull away. His bail was set at $600.

• At 11:51 p.m., a 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of battery after deputies were called to an apartment on south Carson Street for a report of a disturbance. Her male roommate suffered scratch marks on his chest and a bruise on his forehead. Her bail was set at $1,000.

THURSDAY

• At 12:03 a.m., Jordan Rogers, 24, was arrested on suspicion of multiple drug violations after a traffic stop on Airport Road for an expired insurance and registration. During the inventory of his vehicle before it was towed, deputies discovered both heroin and cocaine as well as a hypodermic needle with more heroin in it. In addition, he had prescription pills in his wallet. He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of prescription medicine without a prescription and possession of paraphernalia. Total bail was set at $11,000.

• At 5:11 p.m., Geneva Frye, 41, was arrested on suspicino of multiple drug violations after a traffic stop at Nye Lane and Lompa for running a stop sign. The vehicle was searched after dispatch reported she had an outstanding warrant on suspicion of burglary. The search revealed meth, heroin and Fentanyl as well as paraphernalia. Total bail was set at $28,550.

• At 5:45 P.M., A 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer after interfering with the investigation of a vehicle parked at the El Centro Market on Highway 50. He was held on $300 bail.

• At 8:16 p.m., a 42-year-old woman was arrested for a suspended license after a traffic stop at Carmine and Dori for running a stop sign. She was also held on a failure to appear warrant. Bail was set at $795.

• At 8:50 p.m., Charles Rodriguez, 42, was arrested on suspicion of drug violations after a traffic stop for a suspended license at Sherman and Dori. The vehicle was searched after a drug dog alerted to the presence of controlled substances. Deputies found both meth and Xanax in the vehicle as well as paraphernalia. He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession, possession of paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and violating deferred sentencing conditions. Bail was set at $12,000.
