Harmon sits in 5th, eyes state berth

With a couple of weeks left in the season, Fallon’s on par to send one golfer to the state tournament at Genoa Lakes.

Senior Jace Harmon sits in fifth with an 89.3-stroke average after pacing Fallon in last week’s tournaments in Elko County. The top six golfers outside of the top three teams qualify to state as individuals. The No. 1 golfer outside the qualifying teams is Cade Chappell of Elko with an 84-stroke average followed by teammate Derek Peters at 84.5 Elko’s Kaden Konakis is sixth with an 89.8 and Fernley’s Jack Knodell is closing in at seventh with a 90.3.

Harmon shot an 88 to lead the team at Ruby View Golf Course in Elko on Wednesday. Colton Tousignant finished with a 113 and Owen Palmer had a 125. Harmon finished with a 96 on Thursday at the Spring Creek Golf Course, followed by Tousignant with a 101 and Palmer with a 131.
