Mary Margaret Niebuhr

Harpist Mary Margaret Tobias Niebuhr passed away suddenly January 25, 2019 at the age of 74.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Dewitt and Mary Ruth Tobias, brother Bill Tobias, and husband Clarence Niebuhr.

Mary is survived by her brother Tim (Debra) and son Paul.

Mary’s love for music led her to the harp at a young age. She played her harp at the Dunes in Las Vegas, and was a member of the orchestra at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe; where she entertained along the sides of many celebrities in the 1970’s and 80’s. She also celebrated many weddings in the Great Basin area. She was a member of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Carson City Chamber Orchestra. She played beautifully and was a consummate entertainer. Mary was loved and will be greatly missed by her family, numerous friends, and her cat, “Shredder”.

A service will be held 11:00am - Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Hope Crossing Community Church at 1505 Railroad Drive, Carson City. All are welcome.
