Attorney General Aaron Ford on Thursday announced the state of Nevada will receive $1.8 million as its share of a nationwide settlement over devices designed to defeat emissions standards in Fiat and Chrysler vehicles.
Nationwide, the total settlement is $171 million against not only the carmakers but Robert Bosch, who’s alleged to have supplied and programed the software used in Fiat Chrysler and Volkswagen diesel engines.
The companies must also remove the defeat device features and software in those vehicles and provide eligible owners extended warranties as well as pay those owners an average of $2,908 in restitution.
