Arriving just a few hours past midnight in the new year, Justin David Wade Kimbro was the first baby delivered at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in 2019.

Kimbro was born at 3:26 a.m. Jan. 2 to Tori Huey, mother, and Roy Kimbro, father. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 20 inches at birth.

In celebration of having the first baby of the year, the parents received a Banner Churchill Community Hospital diaper bag filled with toys and baby necessities, receiving blankets and a diaper “cake” given from the hospital’s Women and Infants Services department.

Banner Churchill delivers nearly 400 babies annually and its maternity unit recently received its first makeover since the hospital opened in 1996. The refresh includes sofa sleepers and interior remodeling to improve patient comfort, safety and privacy. In April, the rooms will get new glider rockers as well.
