Carson City has a good memory of this week’s co-headliner at the Levitt AMP Concert Series. Remember Jones returns for the second year in a row, back by popular demand as stated by the Brewery Arts Center.

“You know as soon as we were done with the set last year, we were all anticipating when we could come back,” said Remember Jones. “We had such a great time. We’re super psyched to be back.”

The Asbury Park, N.J., band enjoyed the energy the crowd brought with them, which he said reciprocates what they are doing on stage.

“That’s when we perform our best,” he said. “It becomes easy when everyone gets involved.”

If you missed out on the excitement last year, this is your chance. Remember Jones said get ready to be entertained.

“It’s high energy; super soulful; passionate; entertaining stuff,” he said. “It’s not just a sit-back and listen.”

The band has a horn section, backup singers, and Remember Jones is the singer, storyteller and bandleader, and acts almost like a hype man on stage running around with tons of energy. The 12-piece band also has some new material to share. Remember Jones said they do have a few new singles and they’ll have lots of material they haven’t recorded yet. He’s unsure about putting out an album, or just releasing singles or an EP. But he said they’ll be recording a 2020 release between their tours.

Last year, Remember Jones performed one set dedicated to Amy Winehouse’s album “Back to Black.” This year he did another celebration set, as Remember Jones describes it. He did Yas Queen! earlier in the year, which was a celebration of Queen’s music. The Remember Jones sets, like the one on Saturday, are fun because they get to do whatever they want, he said. The band is known for throwing in a cover or two done in their soulful style.

“I love these nights,” he said. “It’s almost like a revue, or showcase of everything we can do in one night.”

The band is in the middle of an extensive summer tour that covers 25 states in eight weeks. Remember Jones is making their debut in San Francisco two nights before the show in Carson, and he’ll have lots of friends join him for that. He said it’s nice having friends all across the country, including the ones he made in Carson City, which he thanked Gina and Mike and all the folks at the Brewery Arts Center.
