Lily is a three-year-old female border collie/Lab mix who would love a home with no cats but she does love other dogs.
Watson here and I will be looking for you at the fairgrounds on Saturday. This is best dog event ever! Well, it’s the only dog event where I get to see my friends. There will be dog contests at 10:30 and 12:30. I would have won the hot dog eating contest last year, but there were some real chow hounds. Tough break!
If you are coming for the 5K Mutt Strut, registration will be between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.; the 5K will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $15 for individuals and $50 for groups of four. Dogs are free! You also get a T-shirt for the race and goodie bag. There is also an auction for early birds. You will have the chance to bid on a fabulous coffee basket.
I will be walking with my mom and dad who are slow with a capital S. Good grief, I know my buddies will zoom past us, but no worries because the first 100 to cross the finish line will get a medal. What have I got to lose? Furry buddies must be on a leash for the 5K and the festivities that follow.
At 10 a.m. Bark in the Park, which is free, will officially open. The first thing we are going to is the raffle and auction. I’ve been saving my allowance all year. There are over 100 incredible raffle items and there will be “special” auctions throughout the day. Raffle tickets are only $5 for 6. The “special” auctions will include expensive liquor and car repair packages. We don’t want to miss out on that.
There will be a kids’ area with face painting, games and prizes. The dog agility area has many challenges for your favorite buddy. I’ll give it a shot. Kim Lamb will be taking portraits for the Happy Endings Calendar. There are more than 20 vendors. Food, fun and frolicking are definitely the order of the day. Come on out, I’ll be there. XOXO Watson

We have darling puppies. Policy, however, prohibits adopting out puppies or kittens under the age of six months to a home with children under five years of age. This is to protect both the children and the animal.
