Gov. Steve Sisolak has appointed Katherine Dockweiler to the state Board of Education.

She replaces Tonia Holmes-Sutton, who served on the board since 2014.

Dockweiler was nominated by the Nevada State Senate.

Superintendent Jhone Ebert said she “will be able to hit the ground running because she is a practicing school psychologist.”

In addition, Teri White of Douglas County School District was appointed as the representative of district superintendents on the board.

The board is composed of 11 members. Four are elected, one from each of the four congressional districts in Nevada. The remaining seven are appointed, each representing a different stakeholder group.
