Do you wish that you could earn your college credits quicker?

Stop wishing and enroll now in WNC’s new winter session.

WNC is launching winter session in December, enabling students to not only earn college credits quicker but to catch up or get ahead in their areas of study.

Winter classes offer you the opportunity to earn college credit in three to five weeks.

Classes begin on Dec. 16 or Dec. 30 and run through Jan. 17.

Registration for winter and spring is underway for returning and continuing students. Registration for new students begins Monday through myWNC. If you are new to WNC, apply for admission and take care of other pre-registration requirements at wnc.edu/starthere/.

Friends of Western Benefit Fundraiser Tickets on Sale

The next Friends of Western Benefit Fundraiser is Friday, March 27.

Tickets are on sale for $50 for individuals or $385 for a table of 8. Contact Angela Viera at 775-423-7565, if you would like to purchase tickets, be a sponsor for the event or donate for the auction and raffle.

Nursing Entrance Exam Testing on Nov. 22, Dec. 13

Prospective nursing applicants have two more opportunities this semester to take the program’s entrance exam.

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Dec. 13. Testing is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on each of those days. Check-in is at 8 a.m. in Cedar Building Room 320D on the Carson City campus.

The test replaces the HESI as the entrance exam for prospective Nursing applicants. There are multiple opportunities to take the exam next semester, too.

Treat Friends, Family with A Cocoa Gram

The Associated Students of Western Nevada on the Fallon campus will be selling Cocoa Grams for $5 each starting Dec. 2. A cocoa gram includes a package of Ghirardelli hot chocolate, a peppermint spoon, Hershey kisses and a note from the sender. Cocoa grams will be delivered Thursday, Dec. 19. Grams can be delivered to any friends or family in the Fallon area. Stop by the Fallon campus to order your gram!

Fallon Campus to Close for Thanksgiving Weekend

The Fallon campus will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend starting Thursday, Nov. 28. Students will have an extra day off as Wednesday, Nov. 27 is an instructional holiday. The Web Testing Center will also be closed on Nov. 27.

During this time, enrollment for winter and spring continues online at wnc.edu.

The campus will resume regular hours and classes on Monday, Dec. 2.

Christmas-Themed Community Education Classes Offered

Add to your Christmas season celebration through several classes offered by WNC’s Continuing Education program in December.
