RENO — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a truck on the USA Parkway in Storey County east of Reno.
KTVN-TV reports the fatal accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Monday south of Electric Avenue leading to the entrance of Tesla’s battery factory.
The patrol says there are no crosswalks in the area. A preliminary investigation indicates that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been a factor in the crash.
The southbound lanes were closed for a few hours before they were reopened Monday night.
The victim’s name has not been released.
