Carson City’s Tile Outlet has new owners.

Nathan Fischmann and David Olvera bought the Carson Street store in June from Fischmann’s father, Mitchell.

Both know the business well: Olvera has been with the store for five years and Fischmann since he was 12 years old.

“We’re a family-oriented business,” said Olvera.

That’s truer than ever. Both Fischmann’s wife, Carissa, and Olvera’s wife, Katrina, help out in the business, and a play area in the office is set aside for the Fischmann’s 1.5-year-old daughter.

The store sells tile, glass tile, granite, quartz, natural stone, and luxury vinyl plank, a popular flooring easy to install.

After nearly 20 years in the business, the store also works with a long list of craftsmen.

“We want to be more than a tile store,” said Fischmann. “We want to be a local hub for contractors and customers.”

The new owners also plan to support the community and so far have sponsored the Carson High School Tiger Sharks.

The Tile Outlet, 1356 S. Carson St., is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
