Jon Kent Shambaugh

Jon Kent Shambaugh March 10, 1937 ~ September 6, 2019

 Jon was born in Kimball, NE and adopted at the age of four by Dr.'s Frank and Ercelia Shambaugh. He was known to his family as "Kent" and was an Eagle Scout by the age of 14. Jon graduated from Fallon High School in 1955 and in 1958 he signed up for the Airforce and served until 1964.

He worked for NDOT starting in 1960 and was married to Ruth Shambaugh in 1962, his loving wife of 54 years.

Through his life Jon was devoted to the Masons, Knights Templer, Shriners, Scottish & York Rite and the Carson City Senior Center.

He will forever be remembered to friends and family for his booming laugh and sense of humor.

He raised three girs - Lisa Gray, Wendy Lunsford and Jody Cronen and had three grandsons, J.D. Gray, Cameron Cronen and Owyn Blakemore. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ercelia Shambaugh, sisters Ruth Schultz and Jane Prichard and his wife Ruth Shambaugh.

A service will be held at the Carson City Masonic Lodge Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm, 113 E. Washington St. in Carson City, NV with a reception to follow.

 The family requests in lieu of flowers all donations please be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
